"Good HOTAS and Fantastic Value for the money"
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Although not in the same league as the Warthog, which I have been using for many years (And before that the F16 FLCS from TM as well), I got this HOTAS after my Warthog started failing (5 years old). I don't use Flight Sims so much nowadays, and have to say it is a great HOTAS for the price (Cant justify the replacement cost of a warthog). Has all the functionality you would expect from a good HOTAS. I can't fault it, except to say it feels a bit cheap compared to the Warthog, but you pay a premium price for that HOTAS.

Throttle moves on its own, stick has a huge amount of wobble, and cheap light plastic build. Not worth the money.

Glad I bought this, has been perfect for DCS World. Only annoying thing I find is the zoom wheel twitches in game.

"Value for money"

This is my first HOTAS after coming from basic joysticks over a number of months. Purchased for Elite Dangerous but also used for some Microsoft FS planes and DCS. Have used it for several months now. It would seem to be well-placed between cheaper options and the end-game expensive options like the Warthog or Virpil. I can't fault it at the ~NZD$400 pricepoint. The build is plastic but most of it is pretty solid and to be expected. To be honest, with the number of decent feeling switches and knobs they've managed to pack into this HOTAS, and comparing it to other controllers like say, my Logitech Steering wheel and pedals, I'm kinda wondering how they hit this pricepoint. I guess time will tell and whether or not parts wear out and whether or not I can purchase spare parts… There is a learning curve on how to set this up. New to this, I found diagrams on the 'net made sense of the reference in the software to JOYxx assignments to key bindings that arent referred to as JOYxx in games. Two complaints: First, with smaller hands, I found the joystick almost slightly too big and I had to reach to move some hat switches with my short fingers. Second, I'm not sure that any adjustment to the friction control on the throttle made any difference. Despite this minor complaint, it was smooth and accurate.

"Not a lot of options under 1k"

Im not sure if this is an improvement on the 55 as yet. The adjuster for tension in throttle is hit and miss sometimes tight, sometimes loose when you start working it forward and back. I will say that it does not have slop though which makes it much better than thrustmasters cheaper option. Purchased to tie me over so “it'll do” kind of feel if you are into simming. Works well for elite, warthog is better choice if DCS is your thing. If your paitent and this war does not destroy Belarus then your best to save for a virpil-controls solution
