Have you ever heard that voice or felt that poke from up above prompting you to do something, go somewhere, or say something that would thrust you out of your safe place? You toss all the possible outcomes around in your head and decide if it's worth the risk. The fear of the unknown can be paralyzing: What if people judge you? What if you fail? Obeying the calling to do something completely out of my comfort zone, I waved goodbye to my husband and daughter and found myself in Eden, Jamaica, attempting my first mission trip. I didn't know anyone, what to expect, or exactly what I would even be doing. When the unknown began to unfold, I realized that I may have bitten off a little more than I could chew. Challenged with some unexpected attacks of fear, regrets and insecurities, my confidence took a downward spiral into a pit of self-doubt. Was I going to use my experiences in Eden to overcome and rise above these lies? Or would I allow myself to give in to defeat and become lost in Eden?
