Description

Marking 75 years since the great tenor's birth on October 12th, 1935, 'Bravo Pavarotti' is a unique DVD and 2CD compilation celebrating the majesty of Luciano Pavarotti on the opera stage.

Known worldwide as the superstar of stadium concerts and sporting spectaculars, Luciano Pavarotti was, without question, a true legend of the opera stage. The thrilling sound of his tenor voice reached every seat in the house; his vocal technique was impeccable; his stage presence honest and touching.

For the first time, this unique new DVD features Luciano Pavarotti in live opera performances from his greatest triumphs at the Metropolitan Opera, New York - no other DVD collection offers Pavarotti exclusively in staged performances. Classic Bohème, La traviata, Lucia di Lammermoor, Rigoletto, and L'elisir d'amore; the performances are conducted by the Metropolitan Opera's music director James Levine and Richard Bonynge, who both played central roles in Luciano Pavarotti's operatic career. Joining the great tenor are international stars who sang with him throughout his long career, including Joan Sutherland and Renata Scotto.

Includes the first-ever availability of the two beloved Tosca arias - Recondita armonia and E lucevan le stele.
