"Good, but could be better."

Have been playing (PC version) since initial release and have found it quite entertaining so far. The frame rate was locked on release at 30 fps ( Don't know why-) but this has since been done away with, along with the a bit of tweaking to the menu options to make adjusting graphics options and keyboard assignments easier.

I wont give away any spoilers in this review, but here are my observations…

My initial impression was that this was going to be a GTA clone set in the 60's. But, couldn't have been more wrong. It does have a massive open world in which to explore, and in some places looks much better than GTA 4/5, but no-where near as much to do in it unfortunately.

I love the cars of this era… And there are plenty to choose from. From big bulky gas guzzling beasts that handle like pregnant whales to smaller, more agile types. As with GTA, the real names have been done away with and replaced with fictional names, presumably to avoid branding issues and the associated expenses etc, but the Mustangs, Cadillac's and Chevy's of the period are pretty obvious to those that are familiar with them.

The throaty V8's sound bloody good as well, and is particularly satisfying drifting around corners at speed with the tyres howling at the road as you go. No ABS or modern suspension here boys and girls! The damage modelling on them is not as good as GTA though, but is convincing enough.

The game play is pretty solid as well and reminiscent of Far Cry 3 when attacking enemy “rackets”. You can choose to attempt a stealthy approach… Or just go in guns blazing. The choice is yours with both methods being equally satisfying… Although after a while can be a little repetitive.

The story animation and voice acting is also every bit as good and sometimes better than GTA 4/5.

Lastly, the licensed music tracks are really what sets the theme in this game and really “makes” it.

I've read a couple reviews of people having problems with crashes and lock-ups, but I've not had a single issue after 25+ hrs of gameplay now and found it very stable.

Well worth a look if your a fan of this Genre, but still plenty of room for improvement to add more variety of things to do in this beautifully rendered city. More free content has been promised as well as several more storylines are currently in development to become available as addon purchases.

Running on i7 6700k nvidia gtx 970 keeps Crashing is only partial controller capable keyboard prompt a waste of time doesn't show which keys to hit if you're thinking of getting the pc version of this game I would recommend you wait until 2k sort the multiple issues that plague this Game, such a shame I pre ordered for day one release & was really looking forward to playing what a disappointment.

For me buying this game was a no brainer and at the cost offered by the MA was just way too perfect.
