Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim reviews

Got Majesty 2 yesterday. I have found it to be a good game with goodt graphics and gameplay.

It is very similar to Anno 1404 and warcraft 3 except you no longer control the heroes, you give them quests to complete.

The reason it does not get full stars is because the game is not very good at explaining your objectives, and there is no custom game mode (only campaign).

I have yet to try the multiplayer aspect so cannot comment on that.

Overall if you liked majesty 1, you will like this. But for new players, it may not be to your liking,

Nice game, good game play and easy to play…

But…

After the first level the missions are the same with different names, build the same things in the same order, attack the same things on every level, and just wait for the win. It had so much potential…

And the fact you cant play random maps – re-playablility somewhat limited.

At first it seemd a lot like Age of Empires and Warcraft 3 without the need for gathering but after playing for a while this game is really interesting..

First off, you don't control any of your units. They all have a mind of their own.. To get them to do things you need to set a ‘Bounty’ or ‘Reward’ on the target or whatever it is you want them to do.

Secondly, The overall gameplay is very unique.. Basically your role is to be the King, you tell you issue ‘Quests’, give out the gold and build the buildings/upgrades. You also get given ‘King Powers’ making the gameplay change in your favor.

If you're looking for a strategy game but sick of the same things over and over this is a great change in the genre.

The game plays alot like the original majesty but with added features like new flags: Fear flags which ward off heros and defend flags.Things that this game lacks from the original are random map generation,free play mode and continuing after you finished a mission. also (without the newly released patch) randomisation of monster lairs ,tradespots and treasure chests and their loot. Also added in the new patch is the new store which you can buy new missions and spells,also it has some free content like the frost mage which has been on the main website since the release of the game. The game does lack replayablility but with the new mapmaker in development and the new expansion “The King Maker” which has been announced, We may be seeing more relayability soon.

Graphics arguably improved (more detail but not necessarily more appealing), but game play certainly no more satisfying.

I absolutly loved the original Majesty, and then i played this and it had many improvements and i love it. the graphics are great and the humour of the original is still ever present and i am loving the new additions to the game like the “Hall of Lords” which allows you to "save"one of your previos games heroes to take into the next scenario with you. I am very pleased with this game, well worth buying.

Once again, another Christmas present so have no review of the actual game to offer. But I'm happy and confident with my purchase and look forward to giving it as a gift.

The game is entertaining, though more challenging than I had expected. Though the campaign is fun, it is rather short and thus over too soon.

I found this game a lot of fun; although I have had to replay some levels to get past them, they didn't feel boringly repetitive, and I had to think about how I was going to win. Still getting the hang of some aspects, but its not too complicated for an average gamer like me.

Although I read some reviews that suggested incompatibilty problems it runs fine on my Windows 7 laptop.

If you liked the first Majesty you'll love this one. Gameplay is very much the same as the first (a good thing in my opinion!), but the graphics are a major upgrade. Very good game and I've already spend numerous hours playing it.

I had an urge to play a strategy game the other day so bought this. Needless to say I dont usually play strategy games and dont really know what to look for. So as a novice and a geek thats into castles and fantasy I found this game hit the spot juuuust right. Really enjoyable, not fantastically deep or anything, just a great game to play on a rainy day. It was on special when I got it, so really great value for money I must say!
