"Great but could be better"

I love the first two games, but disappointed about the endings in the last game. Still it is an awesome game to play with a good story.

"Oldie but a goodie"

The original Mass Effect is an excellent game despite it's age, but can be difficult to run on newer PC's.

I got up and running by doing the following:

When installing Mass Effect 1 you need to download and install the v1.2 patch before running.

If it still doesn't launch, right click on the Mass effect desktop shortcut and check the box to run in XP SP3 compatibility mode and run as administrator.

This solved my issues on two different PC's. If you still have issues, check the following link:

"Not quite a trilogy" Purchased on Mighty Ape

In buying Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 as a trilogy, you get Mass Effect 1 and 3, along with a great deal of frustration.

In short, Mass Effect 2 will start ONCE, tell you that you need to copy your ME 1 save game using the configuration program (requiring you to exit ME 2), hunt down the ME 1 save folder, and copy the file. Once you've done that, and start ME 2 by any method, EA Origin will happily sync your file with their cloud, and give you a pretty blue busy ring to look at for a couple of seconds. This will be your entire ME 2 experience, unless you've played the game before 23/12/2012. EA know about this problem, as there are thousands who have experienced this exact problem and have told them, and their support staff are busily giving solutions that have no bearing on the problem whatsoever, and asking people for individual log files as though the problem is with people's computers and not with their substandard client (which the software forces on you)

I give the first and last part of the trilogy 4 stars each, but EA's extremely poor support and the problems with ME 2 take them all away… 0 stars

"One of my favs"

Mass Effect is one my favourite game series of all time, and definitely my favourite sci-fi series. Already own them digitally, so this will just be one for the shelf :)

"A bit misleading and disappointing..."

Though it is in fact the Mass Effect trilogy it is not quite the FULL trilogy. Despite what the preview images made me believe the description made me think, It's not the Mass Effect trilogy on a disc, it's on a download code that comes in a rather thin disc case and not the “foil box” that the description made me believe it to be (Nor was there any “artwork”). “Mass Effect Trilogy, all three award-winning games from the series will be available together in one premium package, complete with foil box and exclusive artwork.” Regrettably I choose to enter the code (singular) into origin to see if there was any benefit to only having the downloads. Nope. None of the DLC comes free with the code meaning that if you want to have the “Full experience” in these over 6 year old games you'll need to pay $74.98 extra (for the DLCs for both Mass Effect 2 and 3) and as someone who has already played through the series before this felt like I was getting robbed. Unless you're brand new to this series and want to get into it, it's not worth it.

"Still a lot of fun"

Great trilogy, cool story. The first one in particular has not dated well, and didn't play smoothly on my modern PC, but the story is engaging, and a lot of sub-plots which I had forgotten still left a few surprises. It's a series I keep coming back to.

"One of the best things ever"

Mass Effect is one of the best RPG series ever with incredible characterisation, world-building and imagination to put everything to shame. Easily five stars
