I wasn't sure how great this would be as it seemed cheap with a random brand name.. But I'm quite impressed to be honest c: Is much thinner/compact than I expected and the numbers as to which one is active light up (which is kewl that I didn't know xD) seems to work great thus far, only except it moves a little with my dense keyboard cable xP But it's still great, hence 5 stars :DD
I purchased this device to free up some ports on my laptop, and because all the ports on the mBeat are powered – i.e., they don't load up my laptop's Power Supply. The 4 USB 3.0 and 3 USB 2.0 ports are a great balance. Surprisingly USB 2.0 is still required for some devices – including my modern 3D Connexions 3D Mouse. Mighty Ape's attention to detail and delivery of my order impressed greatly. I could track my purchase all the way from store to home on my phone or lappy. Fantastic. Very pleased I purchased the mBeat USB Hub from Mighty Ape. Thanks, you monkeys!
The hub is ideal for my laptop with 7 ports. It's compact without being awkward to access and the individual switches is very handy for putting occasional peripherals to “sleep”
I was clearing out my email inbox when I saw one from 11/6/2015 telling me to review this product. The fact that I'm here now with positive things to say about this USB Hub is good news for you. Have not had any issues and works amazing.
Great except it won't charge your iPhone.. But still great
Thought I would save space on my bench by plugging all my devices into this instead of a power board. Turns out it doesn't do this and I just wasted my money. Oh well maybe I can use it on my laptop if I ever need 7 additional mice or keyboards.
I love the fact that each port is switched. The USB 3 ports are fast and I've only used the USB 2 ports for some legacy gear. Highly Recommend!
I have had this for years but never really used it as I didn't need it. I've moved my PC around and now need as as an extension for my usb cable for my Yeti microphone. But randomly after an hour the hub randomly disconnects my mic from 10–50 seconds and then reconnects it. Its not a faulty port on my PC as I've had my devices plugged straight into these ports for years but if they are plugged into the hub no matter what port it uses the random disconnects happen.
I thought the switches would be a pain but they are actually quite helpful. Plugged it into a usb 3 on my pc and all xfers on its ports are quick as.
I have WAY to many razer products and so little usb ports! This works perfect. There are alot of hubs that will be super buggy (from experience) nothing yet with this hub! Definitely grabbing another one
Can't handle powering 2 hard drives and a USB stick at once, even with adapter plugged in.
Not really desktop friendly for an iMac user. Needs a radical rethink of the USB access versus ports cables wind pointing at you the wrong way. Perhaps east west- Dunno. Going in my failures bin. Sorry mighty ape my bad choice, you’re still my go to supplier!

Bought two of these a year or so back. Both started ‘dropping out’ within 3 months and had to unplugged to cool down – they are never turned off but individual ports are in a constant state of on/off as they are used for a variety of on demand external devices. One has now suffered a switch failure meaning the whole hub is now useless to me as I need all 7 ports to be switchable. Nice idea but better quality components would be needed for me to buy another.
Works well connected to USB3 running power hungry USB2 & 3 peripherals. Loses one star for being a bit overpriced
Works well as USB hub for my Raspberry Pi. The hardware buttons and status lights for each USB port are great to selectively power devices.
The product itself is brilliant, individual on/off switches for each port, lighted numbers to indicate when a port is live, compact size, easy to use. The USB cord is hard wired in, which isn't a bad thing, but it does mean the cord will always be on the left hand side of the device which may not suit everyone.
I can't give it 5 stars because of the way it was packaged; the USB cord was tied in a bundle and practically folded on itself to fit in the blister packet. When I took the tie off the cord hardly unfolded it was that tight. I did try to straighten the cord by gently bending it but chickened out because I didn't want to break any wires. Even now the USB cord will only work if I pull it to one side while it's plugged into my computer, push it to the other side and it stops working. This is frustrating because broken connections only get worse, and if it was packaged properly there wouldn't be a problem and this would be a great product.
