But, to even them, a record such as is contained in the following pages, has a value none the less real, even though its facts are not the equals of those known to Spiritualists to-day. Thus, then, the reader is now briefly possessed of the how and the why of the present issue. The why being summed up in a desire to rescue from oblivion a narration of experiences that shall not only appeal to Wesleyans as a body, but to the members of the great family of Christendomat large, irrespective of sect or party, so that attention may be arrested and interest stimulated upon the question now raised on every side: Is it possible for the departed to.
