Description

A beautiful introduction to the world of Dr. Seuss – for babies, and babies-on-the-way! An artful adaptation of and introduction to Dr. Seuss’s work, this beautiful hardback edition with matching slipcase is the perfect gift for babies, new parents, and those still expecting! Author Tish Rabe poetically explains the joys awaiting newborns when they meet the iconic characters of Dr. Seuss, with appearances from the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant and many other beloved Seuss characters. Written to be read aloud to babies and babies-to-be and based on the bestselling classic Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, the book includes a brief introduction by Mrs. Dr. Seuss – Audrey Geisel – revealing how they were fascinated by the idea that babies could hear sounds while still in the womb, and might actually respond to the voices of their parents. A perfect gift for baby showers and newborns, Oh, Baby, the Places You'll Go! is the ideal way to nurture a love of reading and Dr. Seuss in the very youngest children!

Author Biography:

Theodor Seuss Geisel – better known to millions of his fans as Dr. Seuss – was born the son of a park superintendent in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1904. After studying at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, and later at Oxford University in England, he became a magazine humorist and cartoonist, and an advertising man. He soon turned his many talents to writing children’s books, and his first book – And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street – was published in 1937. His greatest claim to fame was the one and only The Cat in the Hat, published in 1957, the first of a hugely successful range of early learning books known as Beginner Books. In all Dr. Seuss wrote more than 40 children's books during a career that spanned over 50 years, picking up numerous awards, including two Emmy awards for television and a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation along the way. TISH RABE is a bestselling children’s book author. She met her husband when she was sixteen, and fifteen years later they ran into each other at her high school reunion. Tish became a first-time bride at 36. She became an instant stepmom to a six-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy and she and John had a boy and a girl together.
