Many particulars about the dockyards, the naval and military institutions, the commercial activities, must be sought elsewhere. The endeavour here has been to View the Three Towns as a unity from the commencement, though it was Only themyenaf i914 that saw their final union; and it is hoped that no reader will detect any local prejudice or preference.
