I thought this game was going to be the same old catch and battle as the rest of the series and it was but it had… more. The game was just amazing this out shined pokemon platinum even though Johto (the reason in which the game is set) has already been visited it had so many new elements that I was glued to my DS for days and whenever I pick it up I still can't put it down.

This game is really awesome with its super grapihcs and you can catch about up to 500 different pokemon. I got this and soul silver for my sons and they said they loved it and they cant stop playing on it . Its really good for pokemon lovers and has other good qualitys. Thanks for the game .

If you own a nintendo DS, then the pokemon games are a must have for you. And as far as pokemon games go this one is the best. It is based on the first two regions, Johto and Kanto, yet it has functionality built in for all previous DS and GBA pokemon games.

You can use the pal park to move GBA (fire red, ruby etc) pokemon to your DS game, and you can trade with other DS games such as Diamond and Platinum. Gameplay wise, pokemon is said to be a turn based strategy game, and it plays like one too. As your pokemon grow they learn new attacks, and you can even give them items which have different effects.

One of the best strengths of any pokemon game is how much fun it is for people of any age. The story is simple, and even older teenagers will enjoy training the perfect pokemon to beat their friends team. If you don't own a DS, this game will definitely sway you if you're on the fence.

Gameplay: 10/10

To start of with if you have ever played any of the pokemon games and liked it this is for you what I liked is how the pokemon was more closer to you by it folowing you like in pokemon yellow and how when your not playing you can still have your pokemon with you by having the pokemon walker with you plus you get stuff for the game like items and exp. The story line is great and keeps you playing I would have to say its a must have for any ds owner

Graphics: 8/10

The Graphics are nothing new but I do think the gyms look awesome but the main thing for pokemon is the gameplay but it would be cool if it looked like mario ds that would blow my mind

Sound: 5/10

Pokemon hasent made thier sound better for years but it still is good but after playing it for awile you just block it out. I hope they make the pokemon make sound like pokemon that would make it cooler

Replay Value: 10/10

You could play this game over and over again its a blast I cant think of a game I would want to play more than twice other than this

This game is great, 2 regions and 3 different starters! Endless replay-ability. Brilliant

my son thoroughly enjoys playing it, it is a challenge which is good. He thought the pokewalker was great.

Theres really not much to say about this game but Wow, the game play is detailed, featuring 16 gym battles makes sure that there is plenty to do! Puzzle solving is great and so is the trading.

Worth every penny.

Take the best Pokemon game ever, then add the latest DS graphics, all the game-play improvement over the years (such as running shoes) and you have one crazy fun game. Also the dual screens are perfect for a Pokemon game. Trust me you haven't played a pokemon game til you have played it on a DS. A must buy for any DS owner, or just buy one for this game like I did.

Great game they never did make a game for the loto region since the gameboy colour, Hours of fun great mechanics, Pokemon is a must have game for anyone who owns a ds

Im new to pokemon so when I picked up this game I was amazed at how long I could entertain myself with it. From playing other games (now that im a fan) I realized this is the only game with 2 regions which I think is pretty cool. The graphics are really good for a nintendo ds

You can have a pokemon of your choice follow you everywhere you go, catch a shiny red Gyarados, get loads of legendary's inc Ho-Oh, Lugia, Suicune, Entei, Raikou and much more. what more could you ask of this pokemon game it pretty much has it all!

The games are set in the popular Johto region that leads into the Kanto region and once you beat the elite four and then red (ash) you will be able to pick a new starter pokemon from professor Oak how kool is that! and if you manage to find steven he will give you a choice from one of the 3 starters from Hoen to keep… Sweet!

This Game has got so many pokemon packed into and features that its a massive improvement from any past game made and id say its far better than plantinum version!

This game has all the basics that poke-maniacs love and even more with the poke-walker accessory. This game outshines the old ‘GOLD’ version by adding the pokeathalon element.

Pokemon gold back in the day was my favourite. So on purchasing this, my expectations ran high… probably why i was a little dissapointed but if your new to pokemon and never got to play the original then this game is a defanite must. 4 stars!

If your like me and are a huge fan of the pokemon series, then you have to add this to your collection. An upgraded version of the old gold/silver for the GBA. THis comes with great extra features that we have come to love with diamond/pearl/pla­tinum.

Its always hard to get the entire collection when a new version of a game comes out, this just makes things easier especially with the help of the world trading system!

A must for pokemon lovers!

Game Freak have out done themselves, the remake of Pokemon Gold and Silver have new layers, graphics, and battles. Combining the classic elements of the game with the updated games (Pearl/Diamon­d/Platinum) with more touch screen interaction and easier gameplay. With wifi events easily accessible new side stories can be unlocked (the Celebi event, the Spiky Eared Pichu event, The Arceus event etc) I recommend this game to any Pokemon fan, because even after you have finished the main story line there is so much that can still be done.
