Portal 2 (PS3 Essentials) reviews

As someone who hadn't really experienced Portal 1 I was unsure but interested especially in the two player co-op. Having bought and played Portal 2 now I can say it was well worth it, the single player is at time hilarious and always challenging mentally; and the co-op is inspired and really tests teamwork. The variation available from using a portal gun is quite astounding, but remember it's a puzzle game not a first person shooter.

I loved the first one and this one didn't disappoint either! The co-op mode did almost end my relationship over disagreements however we managed to pull through haha.

After anticipating this games release since about a week after portal came out I was stoked!!! Great game

This game is awesome. The co-op is challenging and mind boggling, and the storyline in the single player gaming is really funny and interesting. I found this game to be hilarious, challenging and really fun.

…but other than that its an emmaculate game. Im no proffessional reviewer, but this game MUST be played!

Very fun game, way different to any other game out there, and makes you think. The only bad thing I can say is they should have made the game longer.

Single player; AMAZING I went into this game thinking that it'd be just the same as the first, wrong, it takes the first game and really brings it to the next level, just perfect, you'll be frustrated at times but so happy once you get past the part you were stuck on. The story is very interesting also, Co op; WOW it was the most fun splitscreen ive had with my mate, at least as good as the singleplayer and about the same length, 10+ hours, Singleplayer 10/10, Co op 10/10 perfect game

A sequel to Portal 1, love how the story went and how we got to see the past of Aperture Industries. The puzzles are definitely harder than Portal 1 (which means more thinking!!) and takes some time to complete. Highly recommended!! Hope a Portal 3 comes out :P

If you enjoyed Portal 1 (and I think every person who played Portal 1 enjoyed it) then you will be a fan of Portal 2. Hilariously funny and cleverly challenging, I loved every moment of it. The new Online Co-op is a one of the most fun Co-op experiences you'll ever have and Steve Merchant as the voice of Wheatley deserves an Oscar nomination. Pretty much a perfect game all round.

If you haven't played portal, I suggest getting both and start at the beginning, funny, challenging, confusing, Portal 2 is just as good as the original and looks great on the big screens. Check out The Orange Box for Portal, Its worth it

Love this game. It's quirky and different and the story line really makes it entertaining. The 2 player co operative mode is awesome in itself as it is a completely different storyline and set of tasks (i.e. the multiplayer challenges would not be possible to complete solo). I would recommend this game to anyone who likes to think outside the square.

Portal 2 is quite simply the best puzzle game of all time. The original Portal game took a simple idea, the Dual Portal Device and expanded on that with an interesting narative with nice character development, and who could forget GLaDoS, the sinister robot with a muderous personality. Portal 2 has taken all of those awesome elements and made them so much better, adding new characters who somehow reach the awesome heights of GLaDos's perso­nality. Anyone and everyone simply must buy this game. I can't find a single flaw to this brilliant masterpiece of a game. You will NOT be dissapointed.

Portal 2 is great game, the game play is challenging and awesomely fun, but I feel like I have been cheated a bit.. There isn't much replay value to the game, so you will finish it and then it will collect dust. There is DLC coming out in the future however, but in the mean time… Meh. If you really want this game, I say go for the PC version because the online community will be releasing more content everyday.

I actually bought this for my sister and her boyfriend since I already own it on PC and have finished it a few times. Clever writing combined with great voice talent equals hilarity. The game-play is fairly on par with the first Portal, not too hard and not too easy, a whole lot of secrets to discover and the story gives a lot more depth to Aperture Science (pun intended).

As a bonus, if you buy the PS3 version, you're given a code for the PC version also. The PS3 has Steam integration so you can play cross-platform, which is great since the co-op is pretty fun and further expands on the story, with more co-op content to come!

Not a super replayable game but still immensely enjoyable.

Portal 2 is a masterpice. After playing the first Portal, I was hooked. The story is gripping and exciting. The gamplay was unique and mentally stimulating. And the character GLaDOS is brilliantly portrayed. And thats just the first Portal. Portal 2 brings a lot more unique mechanics to solve puzzels with and now with co-op, it's basically a whole other game. I mean, four portals! Imagine what you can do with that! Also, with Steam intergration, I can now play co-op with my friends on Steam and vice-versa. And don't forget you also get a FREE steam copy too so you can download it onto your PC. It's a win-win situation.

Keeps you thinking how do I get up there. Using portals you drop through the floor and launch out a wall at terminal velocity which throws you right across the room. Excellent gameplay.

Portal 2 is a game of the year contender. Great gameplay great writing great fun even people who dont normally enjoy puzzle games will love this.

Cleaver new additions like light bridges and lasers keep things interesting. Would benefit from some additional content or a community level editor.

This game is great and follows on well from the original. It has a great co-op which is fun to play with friends. Also all the easter eggs in the game make it all the more interesting.

Before sitting down to play Portal 2, I had read some reports that it was a bit short. Yeah, it'll seem that way because once you start playing you'll find it hard to put down, and subsequently be compelled to finish it over the course of a day or two. The plot twists and turns, leading you all over the now-dilapidated Aperture Science complex; introducing new, humourous and well-acted voice talent to the cast. New puzzles, elements, objects, and scenery by the bucket-load: a must-purchase for fans of the original.

This game is 10/10 in my book! It is an improvement in every way when compared to the first portal. It intorduces mind boggling puzzles and the most brilliant voice acting you are ever likely to hear in a game the gameplay is fun and interesting and the storyline is great! with a few big twists! and the multiplayer is amazing too! with four portals to solve puzzles and relying on teamwork just finished the game of :) 10/10 Must buy :D

If you thought Portal was a blast then be prepared to be awed by Portal 2. New levels, New antaganost and new toys! The co-op is great and gives you a new spin on playing with portals. The insight into the back story of Aperture science is a great .
