I spent an hour or so watching a youtuber play through chapter one (basically the tutorial) and I'm going to start by saying that if you have been a fan of old games such as railroad tycoon, transport tycoon, locomotion and the like this is probably going to appeal to you. Its a niche thing, but if its your sort of niche this will DEFINITELY be your thing. Its not a train DRIVING sim, though you can ride along with your trains and enjoy the view – its an industry sim. You place stations in towns or near resource providers such as farms, connect them up with tracks and set trains running to shift passengers and resources around. Moving people and mail promotes city growth and earns money. Moving resources involves meeting demands – bringing cotton to a town with a factory produces cloth, cloth can be shipped to towns that demand it to increase growth and happiness, etc. And of course you make money doing so. Research new technologies to get faster trains and all sorts of other things (not a lot of this was shown in the videos I watched).
TLDR – it won't be everyone's cup of tea but it looks like a very well made cup of tea for those who like this sort of thing.
