I have been using this mat for around half a year, and the surface is still mint. Compared to its predecessor – the Ironclad – which would usually begin “peeling” within merely a few weeks of use, this is a huge improvement. It is also thinner, so the edges feel less jarring. The rest are what you'd typically expect from a metallic mouse pad: zero give when on a flat surface, rubberised underside which stop slipping, easiness to clean, and a cooling sensation on the skin. The last point may not appeal to everyone; try placing the underside of your arm on a metallic surface to approximate the kind of sensation you will get when using this mat. Personally, I love it. Overall, this mat has been excellent during its months of use. At its price of $60, which is almost half of what the Ironclad cost originally, I cannot find any point to fault for this product. Highly recommended!

I wanted to wait a while before writing a review, becuase I read that these aluminum matts can wear down mouse feet very quickly.
Well its been 5 months of daily use, and I can confidently say, my mouse feet are just as alive and well today as they were when I bought the mouse.
Other then that, its a pretty basic product. Does what you'd expect it to do. Quite large so size isnt an issue.
But, there are 2 downsides. One is that the matt has an annoying habit of showing sweat marks from any skin touching it, not a huge issue, but still an issue. Secondly, first thing in the morning, its really cold on my hand :(
Thats all though. Very solid and well built product, you'll easily get years of use out of it!

Even though I've only had this Mouse Mat for a few weeks it's proving to be a great Mat so far. You really can't beat a metal Mat with a really good surface, it's just a shame they're hard to fine and usually really expensive. If the surface lasts a long time and continues to be as responsive as it is now it really is very well named i.e. Elite Aluminium Gaming Mat.
P.S. Get it on special (I did) as no Mouse Mat is worth $100, no matter what manufacturers try to tell you why it is that price. :)
