Description

The Cambridge edition of D.H.Lawrence restores as far as possible the author's original text. This volume concentrates on the period from 1915 to 1925 and ranges from lighthearted short stories, such as "Love" to meditations like "Resurrection" and the political essays, "Democracy" and "Aristocracy". Sometimes entire passages have been recovered. For example, 25 paragraphs at the end of "On Being a Man", involving a controversial attack on those who fought in the Great War, have never been published before.

Table of Contents

"Love"; "Life"; "Whistling of Birds"; "The Reality of Peace"; "Clouds"; "Democracy"; "Education of the People"; "The Proper Study"; "On Coming Home"; "On Being Religious"; "Books"; "On Human Destiny"; "On Being a Man"; "Climbing Down Pisgah"; "Resurrection"; "Accumulated Mail"; "Note to the Crown"; "The Crown"; "Him with his Tail in his Mouth"; "Blessed are the Powerful"; "...
