Author Biography

Hiawyn has had over 50 children's books published and also writes for television.She won the Japanese Picture Book Award and the Prix du Livre Culturel as well as being shortlisted for the Smarties Prize. She has published numerous successful books for Orchard, including the Mona the Vampire series, and has created our exciting picture book and fiction series: Rumblewick, the witch's cat, and his unwiling witch Haggy Aggy, which is translated into over ten languages and is under option with DreamWorks for a movie in 2012. Sarah has been illustrating for nearly 13 years, working for a large variety of publishers. With author Hiawyn Oram, she created the character of Rumblewick - the witch's familiar employed by a very unwilling witch, written by Hiawyn Oram. Both in picture book and fiction this character has sold worldwide and is under option with DreamWorks for a movie in 2012. Sarah has illustrated non-fiction titles and the Happy Ever After series, written by Tony Bradman, for Watts and Orchard respectively, and she is currently working on a picture book entitled Sir Laughalot, written by Tony Mitton.Sarah works using a wide combination of pencil sketches, digital colour and traditional pen and ink and watercolour. She lives in Bristol, with her husband and two young children.
