Ok the thing about this mouse… is… it sucks… its good when it works. but when your playin a game like fable or counter strike it all of a sudden freezes and you cant do anything apart from die… it seriously seriously sucks…

It's really hard to play Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter when your shiny new Saitek mouse keeps hanging on you. You've snuck into the shadows, the reticule is poised tantalisingly close to your target, you fire – nothing happens – you can't move – the mouse is no longer talking to the pc – you're dead!
I'm really disappointed with this product – and the net seems to be filled with similarly disappointed reviews…

I am left handed and although the casing of the mouse is designed for both left and right, the button setup is predominanlty right handed due to 2 buttons on the left which are designed for the R/H thumb and the long button on the right for the R/H small finger. It is difficult to operate the thumb button with the L/H small finger.
There is no Profile Save Feature and each time you play a game, you must deactvate the application, macro and netsearch buttons which are assigned to context sensitive functions or your game will CTD. These must be set to ‘normal function’ so you can configure them within your game.
In summary, I would reccomend this mouse to somone who uses a lot of applications on their desktop, but as a gaming mouse, I'm afraid it truly sucks.

- nice, comfortable fit in the hand
- good drivers & software, let's you disable and/or re-map all the buttons
- 1600dpi mode is uber-sensitive!
- the mouse flashes blue when moving rather than staying illuminated (kind of distracting at first)
- the button on the right-hand side gets pressed sometimes by accident (be careful what you map that button to do!)
Overall a good upgrade from a standard optical mouse, one you get used to the sensitivity, feel and map the buttons to useful functions within your game it becomes a powerful tool :)
