Sennheiser OCX 686G Sports Earphones reviews

I read a lot of positive reviews about these headphones. They arrived today and I’m no audiophile but they just sound weak and tinny. They are replacing some fairly cheap Panasonic headphones which I’m gutted to say sound better than these Sennheisers. I’ve been wondering whether I’ve missed some setup step that adds extra bass or volume but I don’t think that is the case. Just annoyed as I was looking forward to using these and now I’m considering just keeping my old ones.

Sound is good – sufficiently deep and clear. Comes with several interchangeable rubber-type ear canal molds for quite a snug fit. The inline microphone works great for phone calls. Of course, the over-ear design means it stays on throughout rigorous physical activity. I wish there would be more colour scheme options though.

Took a few days to get used to the over-ear design and break them in but they are now running great. The sound from these are excellent for a pair of sports headphones and have started using them daily. The cord does a great job of not getting tangled.

Tangle-free cord works wonders and sound is pretty good.

After reading the reviews on this headphones it appeared to be rather hit or kiss as to whether they sounded awesome or weak and tinny. When I first used them I thought I had hit the latter, they came across as quite tinny and sounded dull. However with a better mix of music played at an appropriate volume (rather loud) from a quality source they sound fantastic. You'll never get deep bass out of ear buds but the sound range overall is pretty solid. They are comfortable and the included storage bag is pretty cool. Very happy with the purchase.
