Description

How can businesses balance profit with social motives? This accessible resource teaches students how to start a social enterprise and lead change for positive impact. Social Entrepreneurship in Practice balances theoretical underpinnings with a focus on developing social entrepreneurship skills to create and manage a social entrepreneurial venture. It provides a road map and practical tools for starting a successful social enterprise, including problem identification, opportunity recognition, social financing and building a social business model. It also covers what it takes to become a social entrepreneurial leader and social entrepreneurship's alignment with Sustainable Development Goals. The book features global examples illustrating how the ideas and techniques discussed within the book can be used to create successful social enterprises. A host of pedagogical features are included to reinforce learning, such as learning outcomes, discussion questions and the 'Expert View', which showcases contributors' experiences and scholarship across industry sectors. Online resources include lecture slides, worksheets, additional case studies, group activities, student exercises, podcasts and videos. Social Entrepreneurship in Practice is an essential resource for postgraduate and undergraduate students taking modules on social entrepreneurship as part of their degrees.
