Richard de Grijs is professor at the University of Sheffield, UK. Before that he has held positions at prestigious institutions such as the University of Cambridge and the Anational Observatories of China. His research interests are star formation in galaxy interactions, the evolution of star cluster systems and spiral galaxies as well as imaging and spectroscopy from mid-infrared to mid-ultraviolet. Before she took this assignment, she has had different professorships, e.g. in Heidelberg and Goettingen (Germany). Her research focus is on evolution and interactions of galaxies and clusters of various types and involved star formation at intermediate and high redshifts, evolution and transformation of galaxies in Clusters as well as chemical evolution of galaxies and protogalaxies. She has authored more than 120 publications.
