I thought the characters where pretty much spot on with the orginals.

I had never been a “Trekkie” before watching this movie, but I am now. What a brilliant reboot to the series. A great plot and a superb cast make this one of the best movies to be released in 2009, along with The Hangover, District 9 and Avatar.
Well worth viewing, even for those who haven't watched any Star Trek before.

I am not a trekkie at all but this was good – old story with a new spin. Nice to see the beginning of the story in a time-parallel universe. Worth the watch.

Love this movie. Action packed and good story line. Chris Pine is also lovely too
A reboot designed to appeal to non Star Trek fans. All explosions and fight scenes. Not a bad “space opera” style film, but it certainly is not true to the original.
Really enjoyed this movie. Provided interesting background information to Start Trek and James T Kirk and his crew.
