I was blown away by the first action packed mission and the fun did not stop there, as it was a quick paced FPS the whole way through, with the most awesome squad command system I have used, making this one of my most favorite FPS's Ive ever played, though it seemed too short for such a great game…

Enjoyed the game so much, that this is my 2nd time around playing it It was nice to play something that wasn't up in space. I am very surprised that they haven't continued on with a sequel Great fun! Plenty of action. Showing its age now but well worth it!

Although a little dated and with a small range of weapons – this is genuinely good fun and a different angle on the Star Wars universe.

Does support wide screen resolutions including 1680×1050 with ini file edits.

I was astonished by the outstanding graphics of this game, The squad commands were the easiest I've ever used. It's a pity you can't drive vehicles as that would have made the game perfect.

Overall: 4.5/5

Despite the rave reviews from several popular gaming sites and magazines, I found SWRC to be a bit of the same old same old.

Here's what I found disappointing: Weapon strengths appear inconsistent. The Blaster Pistol appears to be more powerful than the Blaster Rifle, Bowcaster, Shotgun and SMG. Tended to use the Pistol through most parts of the game. Each Commando is supposed to be superior in a skill, but it doesn't appear to have any effect in the game. Enemy AI isn't very smart, e.g. while they try to hide, they don't move even though you continuely shoot at parts of their body that is exposed. Game is too short. On normal difficulty, you can finish the game within 8–10 continuous hours. Felt almost like a run-and-shoot…sometimes just run as the enemies don't seem to pursue you if you run past the room that they are in… Too scripted. e.g. in most objectives, enemies suddenly stop coming at you when you accomplish the objective/sub-objective. Very limited number of weapon types. Ammo packs refill its respective weapon to maximum instead of a designated amount. Background details didn't look as flash as Doom3 or HL2, particularly in 1024×768. The attempt at commando “character development” wasn't done very well (i.e. didn't seem to make the game any worst or better)

What I did find good: Commando AI is quite respectable, but occasionally they do run in front of your fire. Quite a good musical score particularly when you are in a firefight and after a firefight. The simple and contexted based commands to your commandos are quite good. Character model and details are good at 1280×1024. “Robot” factories, which you can destroy using charges, made fire-fights more interesting. “Booby trapping” explosive barrels. Door breaching…and how a team mate throws in a grenade immediately after the door is breached.

Overall, 3.5/5.

It is a good game, has great potential but the colours are a bit dull and it's enemy's are quite predictable. You can't drive vehicles in it but the storyline is quite good. Half of it's missions are inside and that is quite annoying. The are a variety of weapons but not too many weapons which limits it alot. Also the missions have strict guidelines so you can't stray from the path. I like the game and it is great squad control buttons and they are surprising useful at times. Overall a 4.9 out of 5 from me.
