Star Wars X-Wing Core Set reviews

I had a good time playing it with the kids a few times. Unfortunately the base game seems a bit unbalanced for beginners. It feels like the whole thing is constructed to make you want to buy another X-Wing… Thus starting a potentially expensive collecting habit. Having said that, it's a fun game and quite different from anything else we have (mainly card & board games).

This is currently at the top of my list of “games everyone must learn to play.” I have a family that play games from monopoly to Warhammer 40k but I also have some family members who are still learning how to play snap. They have all managed to grasp the rules and have a good time. I do own all of the expansions however I would say to people like Alan's review – you do not need them to play. If you put an amazing pilot like Luke Skywalker in the x-wing then he is more than a match for the tie-fighters and you might think the imperials need a ship or two to back them up!

I recommend this game to every one as a must to play especially if you love the star wars universe!

What a great game, my friends and I had a heap of fun playing this for the first time. Simple, easy to learn basic rules but complexity is added with ship selection and upgrades. The maneuver dial adds an exciting step where you try to out guess or bluff your opponent. This definitely one of the most exciting table top games I've played. Give it a try.

Whether you're a star wars fan or not, if you enjoy any type of gaming you will thoroughly enjoy this.

The level of tactical strategy involved as you attempt to out maneuver your opponent is simply exhilerating!

Personally, I'm addicted to 40k, but this is going to be taking up a huge amount of my game time from now on. I haven't even mentioned the small start up cost involved with this hobby.

You won't be disappointed.

A new fan boy

It is very easy to learn how to play this game and it is a lot of fun, but you will soon find yourself craving more challenging opponents so that you can improve upon your tactics and fleet building skills.

Fan of Star Wars- if you're reading this you likely are. At our current technology level space fighters like TIEs and X-Wings are out of reach, but this will be the closest you can get to flying one.

Hello, this is a fantastic product but it is for an old version of the game and will require further buying to convert if you wish to play with newer stuff and other players. Please don't buy this if you are just getting into the game.
