In 2015, Abrams Comic Book Arts published a glossy, 500-page book that presented each of the original trading cards. The book will especially appeal to Star Wars nostalgia buffs who recall the cards coming out, and who need to reminisce. Star Wars: The Original Topps Trading Cards, volume one is a tidy place to look at something many young people enjoyed at the time and is also for younger fans who don’t have the same attachment as older fans but are still curious. The most reminiscent of the five series was the one with the blue borders and iconic images see many times before. The others in the collection are not as resonant but still have their own qualities. The book is uncluttered and of a handsome and proud quality. The book is compact but not on the small size, it is glossy, and the dust jacket feels like the bubble gum wrapper the cards came in. The five-page introduction and the information and facts are interesting, the photos are great, but my only quibble is that the book does not have a lived-in feel as the cards were handled and swapped by young traders.
