Circumstances in divine provi dence, however, have enabled him to give much more time to the work than he could at first have calculated upon; While, by his residence abroad, partly in and near a city long cele brated as a seat of theological learning, and partly in Egypt and the Holy Land, he has obtained aids and facilities for prosecuting the work-which he could not otherwise have en joyed.
