Supernatural - The Complete 4th Season reviews

This season can only be described as epic.

Season Three left Dean in Hell, subject to forty years of torture. Thirty years on the rack, ten years wielding the knife himself. Safe to say, when he returns top side he has a few issues.

For Sam it is the guilt, the helplessness, the realisation that Dean was burning away down there and he couldn't lift a finger to help. So when Season Four returns we see a Sam desperate for that power, desperate for revenge.

And thus the wedge is driven. Add in the arrival of some very well written, well acted angels (yes, angels), demons and an impending apocalypse the Winchester brothers don't fair well in this Fourth Season.

And that is the beauty of it. The angst is dialed up to twelve, the laughs are instant classics and the tension palpable. This is a brilliant season of television.

The DVD's extras are also juicy. There is a collection of very interesting features about mythology and religion – Heaven, Hell and everything in between – with interviews from the crew and religious experts. We also have some great deleted scenes and of course, the gag reel is a hilarious must.

This is the season Supernatural gained the love of the critics, arguably the season it offically gained its cult status.

Move over Buffy, move over X-Files, it is the story of two brothers and a car that everyone is talking about.

Definitely my favourite season so far.

As most of you probably know, Supernatural is a brilliant show that has the tendency to make you laugh, cry, and rip your heart out all at once. After season 3 being interrupted by the WGA writer's strike Supernatural returned bigger and better than ever with the help of some new characters and interesting plot twists.

When my dvd arrived I will admit I went on to scream and weep uncontrollably and started watching it immediately, regardless of my final exams going on at the time.

This season introduced Castiel, an angel of the Lord, who ‘gripped Dean tight and raised him from perdition’. Such a likable character with his famous trenchcoat and ‘holy tax accountant’ look. It's great fun seeing him immersed in this newly acquired human vessel, trying to understand the ways of today's people.

The Winchester brothers are united once again, trying to find some answers. Their ‘dangerously codependent’ relationship has returned, along with some more playful banter and emotional hardships that will have you clawing at your face in despair.

We take a whole new turn with the plot delving into the apocalypse and dealing with the battle between heaven and hell.

Conclusively, our favourite demon-hunting bros are back with the same old legendary humour, nail-biting drama and (deny it all you want) homo-erotic subtext, with an all new season that is sure to be one of your favourites.

Supernatural is moody, dark, and witty. Brilliant writers and actors mix belly laughs, brutal action, and heavy-weight philosophy – eg the angel's angry demand “would you rather have peace or freedom-” An acclaimed lighting expert contributes to the moody dark feel. No pink bows, a dose of classic rock, and a love affair with a Chevy Impala. Best show ever.

Just as good as the previous seasons. Each season gets better than the one before it. Can't wait to see season 5

And it is getting better as we get through the Seasons, characters are becoming stronger in themselves, cant wait for season 7 to come out.

Awesome condition, fantastic season, chose the pick up option and order was ready for pick up in only one day, great service. This is the reason I love Mighty Ape so much :)

Got to be my favorite action packed scary season so far, great story and definitely worth the watch, the special features like the BLOOPERS are classic, just showing who he actors really are, and how they make the show GREAT

This season carries on from when dean was sent to hell but brings in a new factor, angels! These creatures are strong and powerful and are very awesome characters.

We are greeted by my favourite character, Castiel, the angel which drags Dean out from hell. Castiel is a funny, innocent character which gives supernatural a new edge to it.

THIS SEASON IS A MUST BUY!

This fourth installment is just as good, if not better, than the first three Supernatural seasons. Just enough gore to keep it interesting.

My aunty first gave me supernatural season 1 for my birthday and hoping that i'd like it. I watched some of the first episode and thought what a load of rubbish but my mum and sister started watching it without me and said they really liked it. So I gave it another try and it turns out its my favourite shows now. I've also bought season 2,3 & 4 off mighty ape as well. Well worth buying and it usually ships the next day! :) If you like horror, adventure, comedy, action then You'll really like supernatural.

This season takes you on even more creepy and thrilling adventures and keeps you holding on for more of the story! Definitely recommended! Definitely as good all the previous seasons!

Follow Sam and Dean as they try to stop Lucifer from rising.

As always the Winchester brothers are back together, battling demons, slaying monsters and looking super fine the entire time..even though Dean went to hell at the end of the last season! Always mystery and strange things happening in this programme! This is one of my favourite seasons supernatural. We get new heavenly heroes.....Misha Collins as Castiel is amazing! And it only gets better as it goes on! Love it! Cant wait for season 5 to be released! Thanks mighty ape…speedy as delivery and primo price!

Each season just gets better and better ........ I'm now impatiently waiting for Season 5.

Great story line & the action scenes are damn good. It can get quite addictive like that first playstation game you just had to have one more go @, as you just could not put it down. Something in it for the ladies to, with the lads being " easy on the eye "as my girlfriend lovingly informed me. The characters are not afraid to have a laugh @ themselves either, which makes it easier to get into. A good buy indeed.

I love the whole 4th season well worth the wait. Thank You Mighty Ape.

Dean and Sam are still awesome kickers of supernatural butt. The 4th series returns Dean from hell (apparently not a great holiday spot) to carry on the hunt for the supernatural. Sam has changed whilst Dean was in hell – for the better?, only time will tell.
This series is heading for the apocalypse, but the boys still have to stop the usual (?) supernatural problems that seem to keep popping up. Ghosts, vampires, werewolves and ghouls all make an appearance.
There is still a good dose of humour running through the series to lighten the atmosphere. The gag reel at the end is a must see, showing the lighter side of the boys.
This is a must have for any sci-fi / supernatural fan.

Supernatural is one of my favourite TV shows to date. Its gets better and better every season! This dvd is packed angst, fun and action filled with the threat of the apocalypse and the war between heaven and hell and angels and demons and what Sam and Dean must endure fighting evil. Jared and Jensen are truly amazing actors. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!

Dean finds himself back from hell, raised by Castiel – An Angel of the lord. Sam finds himself falling deeper and darker with the enemy. How will things turn out?
