Denise Hunter’s latest release – Sweetbriar Cottage is the perfect cosy read for those cold dark nights or snowy weekends spent wrapped in a warm blanket with a steaming cup of hot chocolate.
Noah lives alone after his divorce in a secluded cottage in the Blue Ridge Mountains in George. His ex-wife still works down in the local town as a hairdresser/barber shop. The least they have to do with each other the better as far as Noah is concerned.
So when he receives notice that his divorce didn’t actually happen and he is technically still married – you can imagine what follows is ample fodder for a good novel – but this is SO much more.
Throw in a snow storm come blizzard – two people who thought they couldn’t stand one another suddenly find out life may not be through with their two lives together.
I loved the two main character’s literal unexpected adventure and how sometimes the events that over whelm us – do the most to shape us. It was also a super quick read based mainly on the fact that you wanted to know how our two protagonists were going to make it out in one piece and together or now.
All in all I couldn’t recommend this book more – 5 stars and then some. Curl up with this one soon.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via The Fiction Guild, and was not required to post a positive review. The opinions expressed are my own.
