Charles Darwin was born in 1809. He and his brother went to Edinburgh University while privately becoming aware that his father would leave him property enough to live comfortably. Because of this Charles cut back on any strenuous efforts to learn medicine. However, he attended the health needs of women and children and wrote complete accounts of their symptoms and treatments. The end of his great autobiography he makes a humble admission. It is an absolute necessary read for anyone who wants to understand Charles Darwin the man.
