"John Woo is the best !" Purchased on Mighty Ape

If you like strategic war movies this is a must. Shows how a seemly invincible army can be beaten by cunning and determination. The best part is how they collected 100,000 arrows. Brilliant !

"A John Woo classic based on actual events"

Despite being subtitled the film more than met my expectations. It had fantastic battle scenes and expert martial arts skills from a cast of thousands. It was easy to follow the story which is based on a true record of events. Compelling viewing and left me wanting more.

"Worth it !!!"

Even with subtitles in english this was awesome, saw shorts on the mighty ape and got it, and was not dissappointed. If you like amazing fighting action in the true sense of it, tie that in with an epic in staggering proportions 50000 against 2000000 I think all the extras are there then you have half a dozen different generals all amazing fighters in there own right, that many people there's a s**t load of good fighting and a story with a twist. Watch it I've ordered another of same that impressed and I'm 50. Cheers mighty ape good work.

"A great action spectacle by John Woo!"

This movie has all the elements for a good night in: action, love, drama & clever warfare. One of the better Chinese epics, this story is well written but not excessively long. There is some clever script writing, great settings & good acting. My only criticisms are that the subtitles are small & hard to read, also some of the computer effects are not great but not so much to ruin the movie -they're just a bit obviously digitally created. No wire fighting though!
