The Brokenwood Mysteries is great. Especially the first episode of the 2 series. Mainly because I co-wrote it and I'm a genius.
This is a production that is on a budget has the same people doing different things to create the home town story overlaid with some serious crime. It is entertaining but in a light way along “Midsomer Murder” lines. We enjoyed it.
Brokenwood: Population 5000 and declining – slowly – one by one or, two by two depending on the murder rate that week.
In Brokenwood, an early morning mist will often give way to a glorious day. As far as towns go it’s bucolic, pastoral yet curious. All-in-all, Brokenwood is a pretty nice place to live – if you watch your back and sleep with one eye open.
