Russell Baker had a job he had always wanted. After serving as a patrol officer in Cobb County, Georgia he worked his way to being one of the lead detectives on the force. And, while on a fishing trip to Bozeman, Montana he met Sarah. Although they had never met before, Sarah was from his home town and was there with her father to go fishing, also. So, standing in a fly fishing shop in Bozeman, it was love at first sight. Russell Baker was a happy man with a job he loved and a beautiful wife, Sarah. They had a nice home and enjoyed fly fishing together. But, when they learned that Sarah was seriously ill and that she was in a fight for her life that she does not win, his world came to an end. Russ lost the love of his life and the job he loved. To try and find a new beginning, he returned to the place where life was full of hope. Russell travels to Bozeman, Montana where he becomes a fishing guide on the Madison River. When he discovers a murder victim on the river, he is pulled back into police work. He encounters drug dealers, crooked cops, and murderers. He meets the older Miriam and the beautiful Nancy. He finds the murderer........or the murderer finds him, with deadly consequences, and, he finds himself.

Author Biography:

Jerome Chapman grew up in Middle Georgia and has lived in Georgia all of his life. From a rural background he moved on to work for such companies as IBM and Litton Industries. For many years he was in sales and later served as Sr. Vice President and Sales Manager for a distribution company that served a wide area in the Southeast and was based in Atlanta. He has always liked to tell a good story. Married with three sons, two daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren, he started on the book writing path after being asked to help a long time friend write about his many adventures in Africa and other places around the world. The Drift Boat Detective, Murder on the Madison, is his second book and his first mystery novel. Having become interested in fly fishing over 30 years ago, he has traveled to most of the Western US trout fishing, including Montana. Hunting and fishing were a part of his life growing up. He has been known to catch some trout, bass, snook, redfish, grouper, and bonefish, as well, and an occasional shark! Now retired, Jerome still lives in the Atlanta area in Cobb County with his wife, Joy, where he gets in the river with a fly rod, fishes from an inshore boat in the Gulf of Mexico or a bass boat in Lake Guntersville as often as possible. He also spends some time working on his old stories, opinions and political comments on his blog.
