Heath-land fhould likewife be pared and burned, on account of the fort of grafs it produces, the fiems and roots of which are like Wire, and would not rot for many years and when the roots of grafs remain in land, they impede the growth of corn, turnips, as may be eafily conceived from their robbing the earth of the nutritious particles which fhould be diverted into another channel. T hefe roots are very I'tubborn, and not eafily defiroyed, even when the land is (own with turnips; for, when the turnips become fufficiently large to admit of the hoe, by running amongi't them they are very troublefome, and cannot be te moved. The grafs roots alfo ferve as a harbour for worms, where they breed and increal'e in a ve ry great degree; and when the land is (own with corn or turnips, the grafs roots are To en tangled, that the rocks in fearching after the Worms, pull up the corn and turnips.
