Description

Excerpt from The Kentucky Revival, or a Short History of the Late Extraordinary Outpouring of the Spirit of God in the Western States of America, Agreeably to Scripture Promises and Prophecies Concerning the Latter Day: With a Brief Account of the Entrance and Progress of What the World Call Shakerism, Among the Subjects of the Late Revival in Ohio and Kentucky IV. As the continuance of the revival was so strongly predicted andasserted by its subjects, it will be proper to consider how far, and upon what footing, those predictions and assertions are tenable. That it should always continue in the same measure and appearance, without any increase, was never intended therefore, if that same power continues to work, though itshould be in a greater degree, and more extraordinary manner, and though it should be among a dif ferent people, this will not prove the above predictions false.
