Since our last session, among the green hills of Vermont, we have passed another year of duty in our respective fields of labor, and have again come together to exchange, once more, friendly greetings, to renew old acquaintances and to form new ones; to listen to words of wisdom and instruction from those who have come prepared to counsel and edify us in our calling; and to have a mutual interchange of opinions and views upon mat ters connected with our profession, and the various aspects of the work in which we are engaged. My words of greet ing, and of introduction, shall be few; that you may the more readily enter upon the appropriate work of this occa sion as laid down in the programme already before you.
