Joseph and Ruth (buck) Gar rett, to whom he was married, Feb. 2, 1709 - 10, by whom he had two daus., viz., Mary, b. Oct. 9, 1711, m. John Cudworth, Jr., Jan. 13, 1731 - 32; Hannah, b. Feb. 8, 1714 - 15, m. Dea. Joseph Clapp (first wife), Dec. 21, 1732. Mary (garrett) Briggs died in Scituate, Feb. 8, 1714 - 15. His t/zira' wife was the widow Sarah Morey (see Family No. To whom Joseph was married, in Scituate, Jan. 14, 1730, and who survived him. He was called in order to distinguish him from his first cousin, Joseph Briggs (b. Feb. 19, 1678 son of Captain Cor melius Briggs (ensign in King Philip's war).
