Unlike Interstellar, The Martian is a thoroughly believable (scientifically accurate) story of human exploration of our nearest neighbour, Mars. It's not simply an extrapolation of Apollo 13 but every bit as heroic as one man uses his head to survive against the odds … with the help of “a few friends.” Quite captivating as a movie and a preview of the early 21st century in space exploration, this is highly recommended.

I went to see this one the big screen and both my wife and I were so blown away with how much we enjoyed this movie. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this on bluray to buy… Buy it… You will love it! :)
How can you mix drama, tension, comedy, faith & hope, despair, the will to live, “pass the tissues please” – all bundled into one movie- The Martian. Brilliant.
Loved the book. A bit scared of the movie to be honest. Needn't have been it's killer good. True to the characters, the story and a real romp. It's also given me a new favourite treat potatoes sprinkled with crush vicodin.
Like Apollo 13, not everything in space goes to plan. See how man could respond to a disaster on another planet.
I like this movie, it has humour drama and suspense!
