Beautifully illustrated, this book is interesting, informative in a broad sense and a welcome addition to my bookshelf.
I enjoyed reading this book! It is now one of my favorites on my shelf. It displays a lot of New Zealand's native species beautifully and gives entertaining and concise stories associated with each species from Maori and pakeha perspectives. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys gardening or tramping in New Zealand.
Well worth purchasing, interesting, insightful & knowledgable. A straight-ford easily understandable book that is an enjoyable & educational read.
Great to just pick up and read different chapters that grab the eye with my morning coffee. I do quite a bit of tramping and enjoy telling my mates what to eat from the bush and the quirky plants out there. Beautifully illustrated as well.
Only criticism is when is the sequel coming out- Also more Puhoi references would be good, very enjoyable segment getting that layer of history.
A really beautiful book full of interesting and relevant information. A real keeper of a book to be enjoyed again and again, and a good reference book too.
Excellent book full of interesting facts about our NZ trees, one of the best books I have brought!!!
I adore this book, it's has the most gorgeous pictures and illustrations. It feels well researched to read but written in an elegant and engaging way. Would highly recommend for those interested in the outdoors and what New Zealand's backyard has to offer.
A book that is a huge plus for anyone’s reference library.
