This story is the truly inspiring baseball saga of a team made to believe in itself by an inspiring Manager, one George Stallings. In last place in the National League in mid-July, 1914, the team caught fire, after humiliation in an exhibition game in Buffalo, New York, and went on a tear, climbing to 1st place in September. Then the team completed the Miracle by beating the "unbeatable" Philadelphia Athletics of the American League, in four straight World Series Games in October.
