Excerpt from The One Hundredth Anniversary of the First Meeting of the General Assembly, Under the Present Constitution and the Second General Legislative Reunion: The Capitol, Hartford, Wednesday, May 7, 1919 The Registration Cards Show that state Officers and members of the General Assembly and 465 other officials and invited guests; a total Of were present at the Centennial. A majority Of the 803 additional members, who had signified their intention of being present, owing to the inclemency Of the weather did not come. Two thousand one hundred and ninety state Officers and members Of the General Assembly acknowledged the receipt of the invitation sent out by the committee. The heartiest thanks of the Centennial Committee are extended to all who assisted in making the Centennial such a decided success. It is hoped this volume will prove of increasing interest and value.
