The Pacific - The Complete Mini-Series reviews

Bought this for Fathers Day for my husband and he absolutely loved it, in fact all spare time was spent in front of the tv or computer, staying up until all hours until it was finished… If it was a book I would say it was one you couldn't put down

Mighty Ape delivers again. The Pacific is just Fantastic. Of course it is being told by from the American side which is fine with me. It would be great to see it told from the Japanese side. There are some atrocities shown but a must for shows of this nature. If you liked band of brothers you will enjoy “The Pacific” A+ 5 Stars

This is a good series to teach kids at school and at home and also I love world war 2 themed movies series etc

This is what you expect from Tom Hanks and Stephen Spielberg, awesome.

Excellent mini series on the pacific region during WW2 based on actual battles in all of it guts and glory. If you liked Band of Brothers, this is a must have too!

Excellent series, on par with Band of Brothers; would definitely recommend to anyone that has a fascination with war and a keen eye for detail. Superb.

There's no doubt a lot of effort went into the making of this series and it is excellent, although my partner and I agree it's not quite as good as Band of Brothers. Still, we watched the entire set of DVD's in one sitting (a wet Sunday), although we had planned to go out … It was impossible to stop watching once we had got involved with the story and the characters !!!

Like “Band of Brothers” the mini-series focuses on the lives of several US servicemen prior to action in the Pacific Theatre of the Second World War, during the conflict, and on their return to the US. The storyline is a compilation of the lives of several “actual' servicemen who are shown during the end footage. "The Pacific” does a superb job of showing the gruelling dangerous jobs done by US Marines during the liberation of the Islands and is a fitting tribute to the bravery and skill of these men. Highly recommended for adult viewers, especially those with an interest in history.
