Author Biography:

Cynthia Enloe is a feminist writer, theorist, and professor, famous for her contributions to the field of feminist international relations. The International Feminist Journal of Politics has a Cynthia Enloe Award in her honor. She is the coauthor with Joni Seager of The Real State of America Atlas. Joni Seager is an activist and scholar of feminist geography, gender and the environment, and global environmental policy. She is professor and former chair of the Global Studies Department at Bentley University in Boston, Massachusetts, and was dean of the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University in Toronto, Canada. She has consulted on several global gender and environmental policies with UNESCO and the United Nations Environment Programme. Her publications include The State of Women in the World Atlas, The Real State of America Atlas, and Carson’s Silent Spring.
