"Great game, wait to buy."
4 stars"

Settlers is a great game, ill admit that.

Currently, this game has a few bugs. Every 10 or so minutes it will freeze for 20 secondsunless updated to patch 1.3, which also has a few bugs of the auto-save feature deleting your gold and acheivements. (Used for unlocking new items)

Paying for a faulty game that has many annoying bugs is well.. annoying, If you really want this game keep updated on the Ubisoft patch info and wait for them to be fixed.

"Epic "fail" on the so-called DRM"
1 stars"

I love the Settlers series of games, with the possible exception of the ‘Amazons’ expansion that set you up to uselessly batter yourself against scripted hordes of overwhelming enemy warriors. Alas, as far as I am concerned, Ubisoft have shot themselves in the foot with their new ‘you have to be online in order to play this game, every time’ so-called copy protection. I want to be able to play single player games exactly when the internet is down, or if I'm on the road some place. My computer belongs to me and not to Ubisoft, and if I buy software I want to be able to use it at MY convenience, and not at theirs. There's no way I'd buy the game as is. Bad, bad move Ubisoft.

"Bring back the old Settlers!!!!"
1 stars"

I couldn't wait for this to come out but have I been disappointed big time. I have purchased all the Settlers and this is by far the worst. For starters when I first purchased the game the Ubisoft site was down and if their site isn't up and running you can not play the game. I had the game for almost 2 weeks before I could play it. It CAN ONLY be played on line while connected to the internet. Then the first half dozen or so senarios are all tutorials which go on for hours. When I finally got to one where I could play it myself I could never finish it with out being beaten. So the game got filed in the drawer and has been there ever since. Would not purchase again if they use the same system. Bring back the Kings!!!!

"It takes a while to get used to it, but its OK"

Very involved compared to the last one, the internet connection is a bit of a pain.

"Great return to the feel of the earlier titles."

I was a big fan of Settlers II. The way the game ristricted you with bondaries and limited build positions. Yet gave you freedom to chose exactly where and which way to go at the same time was great. The battle system is easy to understand. Possibly a bit simple for those fans of epic rts games like Age of Empires or Company of Heroes. But it is a perfect return to ‘directed’ gameplay that I loved in Settlers II with alot of big improvements.

Overall. A really fun gameplay experience that is easy to get into.

"A nice diversion."

Action packed The Settlers is not but there's something very satisfying about building a working economy in this colorful, cartoonish world.

"Not as good as the older versions"
2 stars"

While everything I expected was here somehow its not as good. The rigid following of senerios without the abililty to just biuld for the fun of it limits the enjoyment for me. One big issue is this is not a load in and play stand alone game format. You have to have an active internet connection at all times- This can be frustrating when you connection drops for some reason. I feel you should be able to play as a stand alone game without this connection need. I also find that running in 64bit windows 7 the game is buggy and tends to close unexpectedly at time booting you back to desktop. Message statement sating that teh program has stopped running and windows is searching for a reason but nothing ever comes up. In all, although the basic game format is still there you dont have the freedom to do what you want. 2 1/2 out of 5 for me. Can't click that on the the rating so I haev given it a two.

"Challenging"

Great graphics, fantastic game play… But hard game. Gets easier the more you play it.

This game is kinda boring because of the vast tutorial system at the start. The graphics are absolutly amazing and I sugest being careful that you have a PC that can run it before you buy. This game is maybe worth the money depending on if you like the age of empires type game. It is way better than AOE though. My rating 4/10
