Description

Even a locked door can’t keep some secrets inside… Jealousy, passion, desperation and revenge aren’t usually the recipe for good neighbours. But on one Manchester street, there’s no place to hide your secrets. The Manor Estate is the kind of place where everyone knows each other’s business – but would never breathe a word to an outsider. Until something gets too bad and too big to hide from prying eyes… The Drury family do their best for the community, and are always their to help a neighbour – though they’ve always lived modest lives. So when their daughters start bringing home big money, everyone notices. All Brooke, next door, can do is watch – her husband doesn’t like her going out. And if you can’t cry for help – who’s going to save you? She thinks she’s on her own until Vince, an ex-soldier, comes into her life. Bridie and Bert have been married for fifty years, and though Bert promised his wife he’d never gamble again after nearly losing everything year ago, old habits die hard. You never know what’s really going on behind closed doors. But sometimes finding out the truth comes at a deadly price.
