At the end of The Truth Seeker: Journey's Edge Phillip ends the first phase of the teaching moments with Emmett. Veronica begins to move forward with conquering her addictions. Their paths are taking what seems to be a divergence. But this is necessary for them to grow. There is so much more for them to experience. But for now their journeys must be separate and apart. Initially, this book moves into new territory, focusing primarily on the present for both of them. Although Emmett remains a guiding force, their development must be shaped by their own decisions. Phillip goes to many exotic places with a commonality of lessons to be learned along the way. But that is not all. There is danger and intrigue as Phillip moves further and further away from his comfort zone. He can't be sure of his safety and has every opportunity to stop his journey if he so desires. Veronica has her own opportunities to learn more about herself and who she wants to be. The transformation of her character is exciting as her role changes. Emmett remains an enigmatic character; however, both Veronica and Phillip get glimpses of his capabilities. But they only serve to raise more questions instead of answers. The mystery continues, and it is far from over. New characters rise and old characters evolve throughout the series. The journey takes a highly unexpected turn, and the twist is one Veronica and Phillip never saw coming. It puts their relationship in jeopardy. Their commitment to the journey and one another is tested. And, when all seems calm, another equally shocking twist brings the journey back into focus. This twist reveals a spiritual clarity but doesn't clearly define the purpose of the journey or what direction it will take from there.
