We want to incite in our children a spirit of study of the causes that led up to the war; we want the world to have the true story of the cruel, unjust and illegal war made upon the South and her people, waged with fanatical malice from 1861 to '65, to take from the States of the South and her people their political liberties guaranteed by the Constitution. We want the world to know the people who hated the law, in their malice because of the prosperity of the South, and if the conflict was inevitable and had to come, the South in morals had a better reason for her course than did the North.
