Mary Hoffman has written over 90 books for children of all ages. She was made an Honorary Fellow of the Library Association in 1998 for her work with children and was nominated for the post of Children's Laureate in 2011-2013. Her bestselling books have received huge praise, including David which was shortlisted for both the Costa Award and the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize. Mary lives in Oxfordshire.
