"The mother of all board games?"
5 stars"

I've played many games of this, with some of the expansion factions, and no two games are the same. The game is quite dynamic, changing significantly throughout each round (each round has 4 phases, and a max of 5 rounds, usually 3 rounds) depending on what each player chooses to do. It's certainly a unique game! The luck factor has been minimised as much as possible, leaving strategy as the main driver of the game. Using your faction's strengths against your opponents weaknesses is important. No two factions are the same. In battles, the aggressor chooses the outcome, and the defender chooses the cost, so combat can be quite… Interesting. Add to that the freelance Oni (Tsukuyumi's minions) and the game can be a real struggle for survival. I've won a couple of games, and had my entire team wiped out a couple of times too – unexpectedly. The ability to adapt is essential. The game pieces are very detailed and all the various pieces are quite nice. The game takes, on average, 1 hour to play, per faction, so grab your chips and drinks, and settle in for a huge, roller-coaster rumble! There's humans, pandas, dragons, whales, boars, cyborgs, insects, giant fighting robots, and more! I LOVE this game! :D
