Turtle Beach P11 Gaming Headset (PS3 & PC) reviews

Awesome sound quality and super comfortable. Can hear whats going on in the room when no sound playing but as soon as you get sounds it becomes very clear and blocks out background noise. I have been using it with GT5 and it helps so much to have a clear audio indication when the tyres are breaking traction and the engine noises sound fantastic. Good cable length and being able to adjust game volume and chat is a feature im never going without again.

Takes a little while to setup but instructions are clear and easy to follow and before you know it its ready to go.

This is the best headset I have purchased, I have brought four other headsets in the past. This headset has great should quality, an awesome microphone and great build quality. I only came across one flaw – the padding up the top of the headset is not glued on well and your hair can get stuck in it. Also, it is quite hard to set up on a PS3 but that is not really a bad point. This headset cannot be used as stereo headphones for an iPod, as it uses USB for power. Using with a PC, it is very easy to set up and is as simple as plug and play. The cable is very long which is good for gaming from a distance. The control box is very good for controlling the volume of the chat and game sounds at the same time. Overall, this is an amazing headset with a great price, good sound quality and good build. This will become permanent headset for a few years now! I absolutely recommend getting this headset.

I bought this to use for VOIP calls. Those I talk with all say they can hear me clearly so the microphone seems to work well certainly better than what some of my friends are using. The headphones don't pick up your voice when you are using the mic, so if you're one of those people who need to hear themselves speak you may find you need to talk a little louder when using them.

The headphones themselves produce good sound – I'd reluctantly say they produce better sound than similar priced Seinheisers (I had the HD202 model for years)

A neat feature is how portable they are, they fold up really well and can be tossed into a laptop bag without taking up much room.

However, these do sit on your ears instead of around your ears, after a couple of hours this can get uncomfortable – so I wouldn't recommend them as your primary listening set – but for short bursts they are excellent.

I got this headset during the Easter sale but I would have been more than prepared to pay full price. They feel very comfortable and light on your head which is important to me due to the long hours I can sometimes spend with them on. The sound quality is fantastic and I got good feedback about the quality of my speech from those I played with. A++

great headset, as expected. but im very ‘iffy’ on the wiring. it seems to have a loose fitting, and could stop the headset from working in the future. (will update review if i breaks within a few weeks)

It's great that it doubles ready for use with a PS3 and also a Pc, the only down side is that it's wired otherwise it is perfect the sound quality is awesome and mic quality is very good also.. Definitely value for the price you pay.

The sound quality is great, has really nice bass. Deffinitely recommend them on sale for ps3 gamers.

The headset has good quality sound. But the pad on the head set that rest on your head was not glued in properly, which causes your hair to get pulled out by glue. Took back my first lot of headsets and received a new lot…after a day’s wait for Mighty Ape to investigate. So after all that, I have encountered the same exact problem with the new pair of headsets. The new set is also not glued in properly which causes my hair to get pulled out once again. I do realise this isn’t Mighty Apes fault, and that manufacture is responsible for this. But my point is waiting for a period of time for a replacement makes this much more difficult than it needs to be.

I can’t be bothered waiting another day or two for a replacement, and might as well go grab some glue and do it myself.

this headset is a great example for an entry model stereo headset by turtlebeach also the value meets well up to its characteristics. i bought this for my cousin and it is his first stereo gaming headset experience ever. very overwhelmed as he could hear crystal clear sound and chat quality that he did not thought existed in the game.

under $90 for a good stereo headset is a must for those that are just wanted something descent, also is only an extra few dollars more than a normal earpiece and is 20X better!

Pros: The earpieces actually go around my ears, not on them, which is great for gaming. Works almost seamlessly with the PS3, although you may need an aux extension cable to plug the sound cable in to you tv/hi-fi. Cons: I've had some issues getting my pc to pick up the mic, but it does work on my parents pc so the problem might be with my pc, just don't be surprised by teething problems.

Still, all in all it's a very nice headset.

This headset is the best headset I have ever used. I can tell where the enemy is on MW3 and it has improved my KD:R by quite a bit. Only problem that it is a bit too big for me but I have a small head so… Yeah

Good overall product but the twin cables are joined together too close to the plugs, which is far less than the distance of my ps3 and tv.

This was my first proper PS3 headset and it was the coolest thing back then. However it hasn't aged well; not all that good with a PS4, it's fine if you've got the good old Red White and Yellow plugs but if your going HDMI it still requires you to have all your RWY plugs set up which is stupid and a pain. However when my pair broke after several years of use I found myself buying another of the same pair again so there's definitely something to be said about the quality.

Crystal clear sound, great quality, love them

Ordered one a couple months ago and it works great! Good sound quality and it really catches the bass frequencies and stereo image of the sound.

Great headphones, but not good for constant use, as the cable began to split where it connects to the headphones.

These are very good for the price

The sound through these is great for the price I got em at. The best thing about them is that the chat and game volume are controlled separately, which is great for online gaming. Well worth picking them up.

These are great. Every thing sounds better. games are more emmersive. can listen to your game as loud as you like without disturbing the kids, mrs neighbours. I like how you can independently adjust game volume or mic volume. I dont know why i didnt invest in a set years ago.

Little itchy on the ears but it hasn't pulled my ears off and is still working after… About 2 months- I dunno. Sure buy em, cheap and decent.

As this is my first headset, I don't know which is the best. But I must say, this is pretty close to it. I'm glad I made the choice of purchasing this product. It is both cheap and effective. I'm so happy with it-

No complaints at all about the quality of sound / mic, both excellent – the cable split down to the wires from one earpiece but Might Ape refunded the purchase price in full (and paid for postage to return them)… I have since purchased the next model up! Thanks heaps

Best value for money I found on the market, it's exactly what I ask from a headset. Almost forgot I was on TS3 most of the time as they cupped my ears perfectly and with an excellent microphone I found it perfect for voice activated chat. PC setup was almost instant plug and play, no issues with the extra long cord also :)

These headsets have good sound quality, comfortable and a relatively good all rounders. However there is one major problem and its to do with the volume adjustment thing that is on the cable. The Weight if not placed somewhere strategically, will eventually stress the wire enough till is dislodges and is a bare wire. Similar to what headphones do when they are worn out, however this happened within the space of 2 months. I recommend not buying these and maybe buy something designed by Logitech. The crackling from broken wiring will eventually drive you to throw them out.

I had this one for about nearly a year and I have to say its not worth its money, so instead I got a Razer one and its so much better for PC gaming.

After purchasing the same headset from the warehouse it lasted for about 3–4 months and then the cables started to separate from the Headset and its Amp it was well cared for and kept at my desk the entire time, it still fell apart

I purchased a second one from mighty ape it lasted the same amount of time and started to fall apart in the same places.

Fantastic sound and Audio, Poor construction lets it down ( one Thin cable going into a much heavier cable resulting in it falling apart after 4 months of careful use)

I don't recommend you buy this headset, Splash out of a higher quality one with better construction

This works great for recording your voice for YouTube videos. It's high quality and I have had no issues with any humming or squeaking sounds that some headsets make. It works on mac and pc, is simple to set up and easy to use. A very cheap price for a mic that has the same quality as a snowball mic. Also the snowball mic has issue if you are in a room with bad acoustics, where as the turtle beach is good even in a room that may be quiet echoey. Defiantly worth buying. One more thing to note is the cups were big enough to fit over my ears completely which is a plus for long periods of gameplay/recording.

The Turtle Beach P11 headset is simply amazing. The sound quality is off the charts with the bass and the clarity. The 360 degree audio helps me hear footsteps behind me in games and has definitely boosted my performance. The Turtle Beach P11 headset is affordable and has amazing quality. If you haven't yet got this headset, your missing out. ENJOY :)

Is a great headset with clear sound quality, good microphone, and nice noise cancelling. But I feel that this thing could be a lot hardier for the price, I dropped this by accident, and now there is no sound in the right ear.

So the headset was quite nice for awhile but now I feel as if I've wasted 100$. In conclusion I'd still buy this because the price is good for the quality but just makes sure you do not drop it!

Hands down one of the best headsets I have ever used its got good length, voice and volume settings at the ready!

The headphones perform adequately for any casual gamer. Sound quality is pretty good and there is enough bass.

It seems it is lacking in good directional sound, making it hard to pinpoint what direction the sounds you hear are coming from. I would also have enjoyed an option to control bass volume.

If this is your first gaming headset, or your are low on cash then you can't go wrong here. The option to turn up/down chat volume and game volume is a nice touch. If you are serious gamer looking for directional sound, you should look elsewhere.

They are good headphones, great sound quality, but if you are buying these specifically for use on PC do not get these. The amplifier is huge and gets in the way, the bass is not as good as other headphones I've had (X12 specifically). they only have the Green In and USB for power and Mic, no Pink In. just overall terrible for PC gaming and music.

Good: The sound is good. The microphone picks up my voice but didn't pick up much of the background noise which was nice.

Bad: I have found that wearing this headset for a long time (2 or 3 hrs) isn't very comfortable (I wear glasses).

I am also on my second set after my first set stopped working. The wiring from the little box going to my headset somehow broke and I'm afraid my current set is going the same way.

Conclusion: I wouldn't recommend these. There are far better head sets that maybe a little bit more expensive but would last longer.

Happy I bought them, very clear. People can hear me very clearly. Recommend these to anyone considering to buy them. Very sensitive so you can hear even the slightest of things. Great headset AA++++

Awesome, comfortable and easy to set up, a must for PS3 gamers, excellent sound quality.

Very easy to set up on the PS3 and the PC for the PS3 you need to use the PS3 AV Cable we couldn't find the original so we picked up a Universal one, Mightyape sell these. But yeah plugged them in and a way we went!

I like the p11s as i owned a pair before I brought a pair off mighty ape I brought the other pair for my laptop and didn't take long to setup on laptop using for personal chat on Skype and other programs and they are nice and light highly recommend for Skype and ps3 keep up the good work mighty ape 10/10

I bought this headset about 7 months back and there's wiring exposed where the cable connects to the headset. I've had a look at some other headsets and they have protective barriers from this happening to headsets as it seems to be a common problem. Anyway the exposed wiring now has damage done to it caused by just using it regularly. Even after winding the headset up as it is done when you first receive it; The part of the cable closest to the microphone Has Worn away, exposing the wiring. The mic is not recognised by the ps3 or computer so the internal wiring has actually snapped completely over a life span of only 7 months in. Great quality sound but the durability is a concern if you plan to use it as your main form of listening/talking on your consoles.

Great headset just hurts your ears really fast compared to the px21 and seems to be alot more durable then the px21

This Headphone is awesome. Its not only has a great sound and very light. Flexible and no need to worry about battery, because it's using USB connection as power. Nice!!! Very Like It!!!

Have had mine for 3months now and they work a treat great sound and chat features ! also with a 4m cable so can be seated anywhere in most rooms and still enjoy . Anyone who says beware of the cables breaking e.t.c Just aren't taking proper care hang them back up after each use simple ! . These are a must for any level gamer .

I've been using my P11 headset for nearly a week now and love it. The mic is clear, the sound that comes through is fantastic and clear. It's pretty easy to setup on your tv or on your PC, and get great quality from both. I'd recommend this for anyone who just wants a good set of headphones with a mic.

Easy to use and set up. No worry about charging or batteries and the cord is super long. Although not as good as the very high end head sets it’s a fraction of the cost. Sound is good and clear and the mike works a treat with no crackle. Extended use does fatigue the ears and the simple mixer on the cord means you can get the perfect mix of voice and game sound. Way better than the in the ear versions for not much more bucks. Great low to medium price gaming head set.

These work really well for first time users, easy to connect to the TV and Playstation, never have to worry about charging your mic, it doesnt really pick up any background noise, and voice comes out crisp and clear, being able to turn down the chat and game vol. separately is A++ and really helps your gaming.

The head set sits great on my head and the sound is amazing anyone should buy it.

I use these while playing MW3 on my PS3. Its a great headset – having the game sounds come through your headset is awesome – it helps you with your game as you are able to hear footsteps ect from all around. I would highly recommend these as a headset for anyone looking!!

This headset is a pretty good starting headset, can get messy with lots of cords running around, also you will need a red-white-yellow cable because it does not come with any.

Would expect a louder volume from 50mm speakers but its good, can't complain

My first set of headphones and they are great! Before I was using a bluetooth ear piece for chat and these are heaps better. You can hear a lot more sounds compared to the tv speakers and you feel like your in the game a lot more. Good value!

Pretty good build quality – no chance of an arm attachment breaking if you drop these, unlike my last headphones I had.

Sound is pretty good, nice and clear mid to high pitched sounds, bass is ok but could be deeper. That being said I'm running these of onboard sound on mobo, so I'm sure with a dedicated sound card the sound would improve even more.

Ear enclosures are quite big and very comfortable so they may feel a bit loose on people with smaller ears.

Haven't really used the mic yet but it plays back in your ears well at least.

Very nice piece of engineering. Extremely comfortable and performs just as good. The clarity of sound from the speakers IS just the best. Have absolutely no regrets in purchasing these. Very good sound and its a pretty cheap headset!

I don't have a lot of experience with gaming headsets but these definitely give a greater sense of immersion than I am used to so I have absolutely no complaints.
