Warlords III: Darklords Rising is an epic game of strategy and conquest where Warlords use shrewd strategy, fierce fighting skills, and ancient magic to battle for control of the fallen Selentine Empire. A dark fantasy setting forms the backdrop for a struggle among heroes leading barbaric hordes of warriors, chaos beasts, and undead. Your conquests begin in a single city where you must explore your surroundings and conquer your enemies. Then set forth, using strategy and tactics, deploying armies to engage enemies in warfare, or venture out on a heroic quest in search of new magical abilities and skills.
As you move through the realms of the kingdom, each player is given an immense number of heroes and unit types to command such as generals, wizards, warriors, and shamans, and armies of elves, knights, giants, dwarves, orcs, and other fantasy beings. Use them in ruthless invasions of your opponent's strongholds or wage epic battles that will leave your opponent in utter devastation.

In multiplayer mode, players can form alliances with other players, break treaties, or battle it out with each other, or the computer controlled sides, for supreme control of the new Empire. You will either rule by the sword or be crushed beneath your enemy's merciless heel.
