Truly amazing paints. I was nervous about trying them after years of using enamel only. I should never have been concerned. Amazing pigment, easily cleans up, paints on effortlessly. I had read reviews that were less than impressed with the quality however on watching several instructional reviews on YouTube I decided to buy some small ball bearings, pop the nozzle from the bottle, drop in a ball bearing then reassemble and shake vigoursly for several minutes and the pigment blended perfectly.
Contains all we need to paint our models.
Good range of quality paints. Just add an 8mm glass bead to the bottles except the washes to act as an agitator when shaking.
Thought I would try some new paints when getting back into model painting, and considering the overwhelmingly positive reviews I thought these would be an excellent jumping off point, only to my dismay they were not. At best the paints have the consistency of coloured ink, which on its own I might be able to deal with, but the flaws run deep. Lots of the paints have noticeable sediment at the bottom that if mixed properly would probably make fine paint, but unfortunately with the pippet lid there is no way of stirring up the paint. Add to that when you shake the paints the pippets leak into the lid, so instead of mixing the paint just leaks out causing a watery mess and useless paint. All in all I would not recommend these to anyone, incredibly disappointing product, even for the price! On a more positive note, great shipping time.
I've heard so many bad things about Army Painter Paints, so I had second thoughts after ordering the mega set. Having previously bought the AP Metallics & Quick Shade sets which I found to be really good and nothing like the bad reports on the internet.
NOTE: I have added mixing balls to all bottles except the shades, and would highly recommend buying the Army Painter 100 mixing balls pack with this set! As the pigment can settle after long storage and be hard to mix without.
I haven't tested all the colours at time of review but I've found the quality of the AP megaset to be at least equal to the Vellajo game colour range. Possibly slightly less coverage, but I'm still learning to thin, so I believe this to be more my fault. I like the AP metallics better than Vellajo's. The range of colours is good and has made layering easier with basicaly 4 shades per colour and I haven't had to mix my own shades. You also get a decent brush with the set, which I'm sure is sable, its about a size 1 or 2 brush. If you can't afford the Complete Set, I would recommend this set.
Great set of paints for painting my fantasy miniatures.
Literally the best $200 I've spent on paint in my life. I've used Citadel for years, only to realize how poor quality they are. Army Painter will apply smoother, and last 20× longer due to nozzle system and better seals that DON'T clog and dry out your paints. This is a must-have!
Amazing set
Couldn't believe how quick this arrived – absolutely blew my expectations away! I bought the agitator balls too and they help shake up the paint so well. I was not disappointed at all – thank you!
What I liked the most about this was the extra tray spaces in the set… Now all my paints fit in one box for my #isolationarmy.
Excellent array of colours and the included brush is great. I recommend buying stainless steel agitators as the thick pigment takes a while to mix with the other fluid.
Awesome set of paints for everything you need to get started
Fantastic Paints for painting miniatures and a great price, in fact the cheapest price on the Internet in Australia
50 paints with a large variety of colors for almost all needs. I am super happy with the set and from all the colors I have used they look great.
This is a good set for some one who wants to get a lot of the Army Painter paints in one hit, the biggest thing you have to remember is like all Army Painter Paints, you will have to Shake/Mix/add an agitator into the bottles.
If you want to get serious about your painting and are exploring paint sets, this one is a great deal. Army Painter has a great reputation, and unlike many (most-) other paints on the market this brand is not linked to miniature sales, so they aren't going anywhere. Some of the paints can be a little watery (the demon yellow), but this is hardly an issue unique to this brand. The metallics flow wonderfully and look nice and bright, the pigment is very fine. The dropper bottles work well and seal tight, the brush is actually really quite nice and a pleasure to paint with. Seriously, all I have is good things to say. Very impressed. I took a leap of faith as these are my first Army Painter products, but I couldn't be happier. 5 stars, no brainer ezpz
